The successor to the millennial generation, Gen Z, has long carried the tag of being an entitled, online addict generation that lacks social skills to thrive in real-life situations. But there is so much more to the Gen Z cohort than these misconceptions spread by popular media. 

Born between the mid-90s to early 2000s, generation Z forms 32 percent of the world population. Apart from being tech-savvy multi-taskers, they also have higher IQ as compared to any of the previous generations. Since Gen Z spends a lot of time on mobile devices, it is not surprising that they prefer interactive forms of communication over passive ones. 

When it comes to higher education, Gen Z expects some form of personalized learning with an emphasis on flexibility and convenience. They welcome experiential learning as traditional teaching methods fail to capture their attention. To cater to the higher-ed needs of Gen Z, educational institutions need to overhaul rigid systems and outdated teaching techniques.
